Dear Harold,

 W.A.L.T Write a letter

Today for writing, Harold wrote us a letter. Harold is a giraffe (not a real giraffe) and he teaches education and hygiene for your body! Harold visits once a year in a big van. In the van there are stars attached to the roof, they turn all different kinds of colours. Here is the letter Harold wrote to room 2, and below is the letter I'm writing back :)

Hello My Friend,

I have been thinking of you all at home with your whānau.

I hope you are all taking good care of each other.  I have been cleaning my room and found all sorts of things like my old racing car set under the bed.  It’s something I haven’t played with for ages!

I have also been drawing pictures for my friends and my favourite educator!

What have you been doing? Send me an email anytime.

Love Harold

Dear Harold,

Hello Harold, it's Lexi! I hope you are doing okay in the lock down and that I hope you are safe. This lock down My best friend Dakota and I  have signed up for a musical, Matilda the musical. I have also been swimming in my pool with my family. Have you ever been swimming before? I have been helping my mum with stuff at home, and last night I watched two movies with my parents!

Hope your safe and well,

Sincerely Lexi.

Matilda musical!

Matilda Musical!

Today, Instead of doing the home  activity guide I am going to write  a story about what I have been doing over lock down! Recently my best friend (Dakota) and I have signed up for the award winning Broadway musical, Matilda the musical. My audition is on the 18th of September and the show is next year in May,

I'm so happy I get to do this amazing opportunity with my Best friend. This is the link to Dakota's blog!

Matilda is a smart young girl who loves books but her family Mr and Mrs.          Wormwood  and Matilda's brother Micheal don't appreciate Matilda. As Matilda grows up she discovers an amazing talent...

Writing!

 W.A.L.T Make comparisons!

Today for writing, We had to watch this video about how people survive In Antarctica and see if any of the things that they do in Antarctica and see if we did any of the stuff they do and see if we did it at camp.

Here are my differences. I hope you like them!

My differences:

The weather was a huge difference. At camp the weather was sunny and it was so hot, but in Antarctica it is freezing cold!

At camp we had toilets that flush but in Antarctica they have to pee and poop in a bucket!

New maths strategy!

 W.A.L.T Work from home!

This week for maths we have been learning how to use compatible numbers! This is an example of yesterdays question:

34+ 14+ 3 + 16 - 17 =

Its simple to use compatible numbers If we look at the questions what are the two numbers that equal 17 in this question? The numbers that equal 17 are 14 and 3 so we can take away 17, 14, 3 now how many are left?

What was your answer?

My answer was:

34+ 14+ 3 + 16 - 17 = 50!

Free writing!

W.A.L.T Use the new figures of speech we have learnt.

Today for writing we were able to make up a story. But we had to include similes, alliteration and hyperbole.  Here is my story! Can you spot my simile, alliteration and hyperbole?

Lost in the woods…

My name is Lexi. I live in a house with my Mum, Dad and my Obnoxious brother Axl, Axl is as annoying as a 2 year old and as loud as an Elephant! One day my Dad says let's go for a walk! I said Okay! We all agreed to go for a walk except Axl (as usual) but it wasn't really his choice. We grabbed our drink bottles and we went to the forest.

Everything is going well so far. As we walk across a crooked, cold, creepy path I feel a shiver run down my spine. I saw a bench so I sat down. ´Mum , Dad´ Where are you? I said, They were GONE. I noticed something weird in the trees, Anyone here? I said twice and got no response…

As I approached the tree I noticed something on the right hand side of the tree. It was a mini door. There was that shiver again. I felt like something or someone was watching me. Hello, Anyone here? I said as my voice was cracking and shaking.

I got close to the door very slowly. I kick the door something telepathically says: GO AWAY OR ELSE.. Or else what? I said. It said again GO AWAY OR ELSE… This time it was dark, cold, and mysterious not to mention creepy. The shiver up my spine was getting stronger and so was the wind.

I started shaking. I ran, ran and ran as fast as I could and I never EVER went back…

                                                   The End.

Events in Jesus life!

W.A.L.T Understand the life story of Jesus,

Today for R.E We had to make a time table about the different stages in Jesus life! We had a google drawing and photos, we had a link to help us remember what it was like when Jesus was born and all the different challenges Jesus went through for us as he grew up. Here is my time table, Hope you like it!

Writing Hyperbole!

W.A.L.T Use hyperbole's in our writing!

Today for writing we have to come up with a Hyperbole to summarise our day. A hyperbole is simply just exaggerating with a twist, Here is an example of a hyperbole: I am so hungry I could eat horse!

Here is the Hyperbole I made, Hope you like it!

I ate to much food I feel like im gonna explode!

Compatible maths questions!

W.A.L.T Add and subtract using compatible numbers,

Today for maths I have been given two questions to make both into a number story. Here is the first question and the number story!

First question:

34+ 14+ 3 + 16 - 17 =?

Dakota went to a party she has 67 lollies and she  gave away 10 lollies to Olive and Then 7 To Lexi How many lollies does Dakota have left?

My answer was: 50

34+ 14+ 3 + 16 - 17 = 50!

Second question:

16 + 4 + 8 + 5 + 12 -9 - 24=?

Lexi has 45 plants. She gives 9 to her Mum, and 24 to her Dad. How many plants do I have left?

My answer is: 12

16 + 4 + 8 + 5 + 12 -9 - 24 = 12!

Alliteration story!

 W.A.L.T Use alliteration,

Today we had to do a 15 minute quick story inspired by this picture!

Here is my story! Hope you like it :)

The fierce, frightening Zoo!

One day I was walking to the brilliant, big zoo with brave and courageous staff feeding the fierce, frightening animals, We had to stay a metre away from all animals at all times even the fast, friendly and foolish farm animals. As I was walking up to the Zoo not knowing what would be waiting for me on the other side, One man yells ´´There making a run for it!, another man yells  ´Watch out´´ As their driving to me I scream at the top of my lungs ´´ Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!´ I quickly jump out of the way I see a van with animals inside and on the top! as they zoom of into the distance. ´Ím gonna get a glass of cold, cold water´I said  Completely ignoring what I had just seen. The animals were never seen again and the Zoo got shut down. The End

Alliteration Poem!

 W.A.L.T Use alliteration,

Today I did some writing work and we had to: Make a poem using alliteration! Here is my poem, I hope you like it.

Alliteration poem!

Barry is a bunny but a brilliant one he buries  bones and likes to have fun, he loves bananas and baseball and bright sunny days he hopes that his broken beaten baseball hat will get fixed some time today!

Jesus questions!

Jesus Questions!

W.A.L.T Understand the context in which Jesus lived in.

Today for R.E We have been looking at what it was like when Jesus was alive and if we meet Jesus what would we ask him?

We watched a video explaining more about what it was like when Jesus was a kid?

These are my questions,

- Did you enjoy being a carpenter?

- Did Jesus ever get married?
