W.A.L.T Understand where Syria is.
In Room 2 we have been learning about Syria and the war that started in 2011. We went on google maps and we were told to find Syria,Damascus, Homs on google maps. Damascus is the capital of Syria! We have been looking at the amazing traditional clothing and dances. We had to make a google drawing about Syria and all the different places! Here is mine:)
W.A.L.T Write Haiku's
In room 2 we have been learning about Haiku's. A Haiku is a type of poem. A haiku poem only has three sentences. In the first line you have to make a sentence with five syllables
next line with seven,and the last line is five again.The topic we focused on are autumn leaves! There are lots of different colours for example Hazel,Amber,scarlet,crimson can you think of any others? Here is my Haiku hope you like it!
The leaves are crunchy,
We love the autumn leaves,
They are awesome!

W.A.L.T Write a brief recount,
On Monday the 10th of May the senior syndicate to the red zone!
We had lots of tasks and activities. When we first got at the red zone our first task was to act like a Refugee trying to escape. When the teacher blew the whistle we had to hide and not get seen and blend in with natures natural habitats. Hiding was challenging at first but we all managed to get the hang of it.
Our second activity,
For our second activity we paired up one person got blindfolded and the other person had to lead them through the field cones were scattered everywhere and also thrown at your feet if your buddy who is blindfolded touches the cones they die not for real of course.
Our third activity,
Its pretty simple we ate rice. We pretend we were Refugees who just escaped at found a camp and all we get is rice. We brought rice in rice cookers and all had a handful each. The rice was very, very hot.
Our last activity,
For our last activity we had to build shelters here is an example:
It was quite hard but I really enjoyed it there were not many trees so it was challenging.
Over all I really enjoyed the red zone Refugee walk. Building shelters was the most challenging part! What would be your favourite activity?
Why did we do the Refugee walk?
Because we have been learning about Refugees. We have been thinking how they are just normal people just like you and me and then it all suddenly changes. Running away from home because it isn't safe anymore people abandoned their homes with nothing but the clothes on their back.
W.A.L.T Work out times two facts,
In room 2 we have been doing work in maths groups in my maths group i worked with Emillee. We had to work out 12 times two. We had to work the out question in different ways I made a screencstify hope you like it!
W.A.L.T Write limericks!
In room 2 we have been learning about writing limerick poems. We worked in buddies my buddy Is Emilee, we could chose between multiple characters for our limericks we chose Belle. Hope you like it!

Our school mass
Today in room 2 we made goggle drawings about what goes on in our school masses we could write, draw,scratch,and add pictures from goggle. Here is my goggle drawing of what we do in mass at our school maybe next time I can add more colour. Hope you like it! Whats your favourite part about mass?
W.A.L.T Write informative reports.
In room 2 we have been researching our school New Brighton Catholic school (NBC).
We went around the school searching for facts and things we not have known before,
interviewed Ms Daines (The principal) I enjoyed writing these reports because we learnt different things about the schools history.
