Symmetrical art for maths!

 W.A.L.T Create symmetrical art!

In room 2  we have have been learning about symmetry for maths. Today we made designs on paper that have to be symmetrical. Here is the design I made: It was quite hard to make it so I chose something simple, hope you like it! Have you ever made anything symmetrical?

Chaotic car pollution! - Writing.

W.A.L.T Write and understand the features of an explanation.

In room 2 we have been writing our writing tests. I wrote mine about electronic cars what are their power source, what do they need, and are they good for the environment? Here is my story, hope you like it :)

Chaotic car pollution!

Fossil fuels are a big problem for our Earth. But are electric cars really the solution? Are diesel cars better?

Here is a different perspective on these chaotic cars!

Have you ever wondered how you power an electric car? What's inside and how does it work? Let's start from the beginning. Electric cars get energy from something called lithium ion batteries, lithium ion batteries are located down below in the Earth's surface. That means in order to get these batteries you have to create a coal mine. Yes, Diesel and gas cars don't seem that bad but they dispose  fuels out into the air and that causes air pollution.  Here are some examples of electric cars: Volkswagen, Tesla's and last but not least EVs, EVs have the longest driving range ranked. Lithium ion batteries can only go up to 6 to 16 months and then you can't get rid of them then we have to dump them which causes even more pollution! Electric cars are not as green as we have been told.

No need to freight yet! There is still hope. Specialists are trying to find a way to revive electric cars, by putting the batteries in a freezer for 24 hours. Hopefully this works! Electric cars can be improved here's how. Try to keep your speed under 60 mph whenever possible, go easy on the AC, not too hot and not too cold and drive cautiously. If you do this then your battery will last longer which means it reduces car pollution! If you can do this you can help our Planet.

In conclusion, These chaotic cars are a problem that needs to be pointed out. Don't lose hope yet we can make electric cars work! Do you agree with this perspective? What do you think? Do you want an electric car? Or do you already own one?

Brainstorm decoration technology!

W.A.L.T Follow the technology design process!

In room 2 we have been doing technology but not like iPad's and phones, its a design process. Our project is to create Christmas decorations for our School library! Here is a photo of my brainstorm. The theme is Catholic Christmas we had to think about who needs the decoration, What is it, why do they need it?

Monday maths!

 W.A.L.T Year 6 Revision!

Today after we had finished our slides we have to choose  a question we found difficult! I picked this question:

936 + 780 + 205 =

The way I figured this out is I did 700+200= I got 900 I added up the rest of the numbers. Here is the question and the answer I got,

936 + 780 + 205 = 1921!

What answer did you get?

Kadoo drums!

 W.A.L.T Reflect on our experience!

Today at NBC Kadoo people came, they brought drums and lots of people got to go up and have a turn. I had a turn on the drum it was awesome, I really enjoyed it! It also had lots to do with African culture it seems very important to them, like a tradition. Here is a photo of our outstanding experience:
